The Powerful Benefits of Spending Time Outdoors: Mind, Body, and Soul
Hi! Welcome back, or should I be saying that to myself? It’s been quite some time since my last post. I hibernated during the winter, did some writing, worked on our Etsy store Sunshine & Bush shop and I’m back to share more with all of you outdoor enthusiasts.

In this post I’ll discuss the benefits of being outdoors. At the end of the day, Mother Nature is good for the mind, body and the soul.
In late May, a few of my friends and I completed our first backcountry camping trip of the year. Boy did it feel great being out there!
The weather was cool and wet, but that was to be expected in Northern Ontario, Canada during the month of May.
We paddled 15 kilometres with one 200 metre portage in the cool rain. Even though the weather wasn’t the best, I can tell you that I was as happy as a pig in poop to be out there again.
The sun eventually showed up after a couple of rainy days, but so did our pesky little friends the black flies.
The evenings were quite chilly (some would say even cold) which gave us all the more reason to have a big, warm fire each night.
The Bass and Pike were just coming out of their docile state so the fishing was slow but steady.
If a newbie was reading the aforementioned, they would probably think we had a terrible time. But it truly was quite the opposite!
The Spring camping trip was challenging, but it was exactly what the doctor ordered after a long, dark Canadian winter.
I returned home feeling physically tired but completely refreshed and recharged. There are so many benefits to being out in nature, which is what I will touch upon in this latest article.
The natural environment is a source of beauty, wonder, and inspiration. Spending time in nature can have a profound impact on our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
